About Me
After receiving a Master of Arts (MA) in Clinical Psychology, I have been licensed as a professional counselor since 2012. I have experience working with adults possessing a variety of perspectives, personalities, and life situations. As a result, I have developed a great appreciation for the human experience and along the way have developed expertise in my role as helper.
I enjoy working with adults who experience anxiety, depression, and the lingering effects of trauma. I have special interest in men's issues and in helping people with social anxiety. I also like showing people how to be more assertive, how to express themselves and have their needs met while also connecting with others in meaningful and respectful ways. I am person-centered in my approach, so I tend to see the good in people who aren't always able to see it for themselves. While I believe that people can and do change, I also believe that acceptance -- of self, of others, and of circumstance -- is sometimes just enough.
I mostly use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and psychodynamic exploration to help increase self-awareness and facilitate change. I am also certified in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), an evidence-based treatment for trauma and depression, which has also shown to help people manage panic and anxiety, distressing behaviors, and relationship conflict.
